Several days ago, the President said to put on our shoes and get to work, stop complaining! Well that’s a good idea, I have a better one. “Put on your Thinking Cap, before you send to Congress that Jobs Act you have been claiming to send. I do hope they have their thinking caps on when his ‘Jobs Act’ gets to them!
Word for word, what follows comes directly from the White House:
“5. Fully Paid for as Part of the President’s Long-Term Deficit Reduction Plan. To ensure that the American Jobs Act is fully paid for, the President will call on the Joint Committee to come up with additional deficit reduction necessary to pay for the Act and still meet its deficit target. The President will, in the coming days, release a detailed plan that will show how we can do that while achieving the additional deficit reduction necessary to meet the his own broader goal of stabilizing our debt as a share of the economy”. Did you follow that?
Congress agreed they would not pass a deficit budget. There is a deficit reduction committee out there working on what to take out, so we have no deficit in the budget while the President sits in his White House (with no picket fence – er yet?) and plans to spend $25B of those cuts to modernize schools. Under the American Jobs Act, Colorado alone could receive $265,100,000 in school modernization funds. With forty nine other states and a few provincial communites how much do you think we’re talking about? $13,250, plus six more zeros! Spending for schools which are not even one of his responsibilities?
It is also NOT the President’s responsibility to create jobs, but it IS his responsibility to instruct members of his administration to create an atmosphere encouraging individuals and businesses to create jobs!
Immigration is also one of the President’s jobs, yet rather than do that job, he flaunts the law by encouraging foreign students who are illegally in our country, receiving local resident fees in local colleges and encourages ICE agents to increase their use of prosecutorial discretion, and administrative closure of immigration cases, while American Citizens are out of work!
Then there is the problem of the veterans of these new wars, skirmishes, protection or whatever, our young men and women are in the WAR, because call it what you may WAR is what it is and WAR is HELL!
The war itself may be over, but the remnants remain. The hometown remnants of families and caregivers are worn out, need help and more money! Dollars are not enough. Reduction in the numbers of warriors is an answer, but where is anyone looking to reduce the angst that causes wars, broken warriors and broken homes?
The President alone is not at fault, but where is Congress in all of this. They have GAO. CBO and other agencies to look to for help, then ignore what they are told. When will we see the cuts suggested to be known areas for budget reductions suggested by just these two agencies? How much have they reduced from their own expensive and ineffective activities. How does one Congresswoman, namely Pelosi get off submitting a liquor bill (of over $100) for one trip home in a private plane? Isn’t it a good thing we only have about 700 more of such patriotic leaders. In the old days, good thing the horses didn’t drink! In1776 they rode horseback back home and didn’t get paid anything, not even for lunch, much less a drink! When did they get so crazy, uppity and demanding?
Herman Cain won the Straw Poll in Florida yesterday. It appears the liberal media is not happy with that and their comments on the win have been interesting. So, he made it in Florida, but that doesn’t mean he can make it in the general election.
Well, Candidate Cain received more than the combined numbers of the two follow-ups, Perry and Romney. For days before, as commentators followed the doings of the candidates in the Florida Run-up, Cain was seldom mentioned. Without the endorsement of radio and TV commentators, Cain took Florida. His message resonates without the help, or maybe – in spite of help from the media!
Cain will make a good President. He is not my favorite candidate Ron Paul has been and still is mine. As a long-time member of Congress, Ron Paul has voted in concert with the Constitution. That is the document that keeps America Free. It is the reason our country has prevailed these many years. The Constitution is absolutely necesary to the continued success of the United States of America. Of all the candidiats Ron Paul is the only one Americans can depend on to preserve our Constitution.
So, a few words to Herman Cain, our next President (if the Republicans follow the lead of their party leaders in Florida)”You can depend on Ron Paul to alert you on the Constitution, he is the only one presently in Washington that knows and understands our Constitution!
Pat Downs was the topic one recent morning as I turned on the television to listen to the news. A Mother was complaining about her 12 year old Son being patted down before boarding an airplane. A short time ago, the same topic arose over a pat down for a 90 year old lady in a wheel chair, one who also had to wear diapers.
Yes, that is embarrassing for a twelve year old and a 90 year old, and it is just as embarrassing for all the in betweens. This is a dangerous world we live in and it becomes more dangerous in an airplane too many miles above the earth. Keep in mind more than just those in the flight are in danger of a bomb exploding. Every person in the community over which a plane flies as well as all of the people in the plane become potential victims.
The perpetrators of harm don’t give a hoot how anyone feels about anything, just as long as they can do damage to as many people as they can with the least amount of difficulty. For them, embarrassing a little boy or a little old lady just makes it more interesting.
The perpetrators would use either to achieve their purpose! Well the question invited many comments, none favorable to a TSA pat down.
Folks, I ask you to think that one over once more, giving greater thought to those who have made us reconsider embarrassment rather than blowing up in an Airliner.
WHERE IS THE PLAN?
So, I rushed through breakfast at breakneck speed because the President was going to speak on The Economy, which is also running at breakneck speed into nothing! Yes, The President’s message was well written and dramatically delivered, but said nothing. If he accomplished anything at all, it was another game of Class Warfare and we lost! I say we lost because everyone who took the time to listen wasted his or her time! Wealthier citizens should pay more taxes so the government can waste its dollars on the poor. Now, lest I be misunderstood, I’m not against taking care of rich or poor if they need help. Businesses needing a lift to save jobs, or increase production. Those out of work need a boost up once in a while. America is a country that cares for those in need of help, whatever that help involves. Our dollars and our People can be found anywhere, in country or out, helping people who need help. In no way do I wish to change that spirit. It is American!
However, there is a great deal of money that gets wasted and/or overspent and misdirected which we have recently seen spent by the White House.
So, the President spoke! He chastised the Republicans for not passing ‘the Bill’ (The President’s Bill which claims much and plans nothing in the way of legislation). What’s wrong with asking those who can to pay more – nothing I guess, but those people are business leaders, they know about budgets and carelessness. Or, even dishonesty – you know – otherwise called cheating or political corruption!
And, what about this great debt reduction committee? They couldn’t reduce the debt, so they quit! I have a suspicion that they knew where to cut, but the politicians didn’t want to drop any dollars from their corruption budgets. Therefore, I conclude, if middle class America is to be treated as a special class of citizenry, then members of the Middle Class should get together and teach our leader/s how to budget with the dollars one has. What say you, Middle Class? If you wish to be on board with the “We Have A Plan Committee”, please write to me at dmreed2@verizon.net and we’ll get right on the job! Respond before the 25th of September, there is much work to be done and we will only have till the 30th to do it! Folks, I am serious. We can do this! Write today; leave a phone number or e-mail address on the message.
Senior Citizens are concerned that their Social Security incomes remain the same. Some whose incomes are quite superior to their day to day needs, feel they should also continue to receive the same regular monthly checks because they paid into the fund when they were working. Well, that sounds fair.
So lets talk about that fund. Some years ago (I think in the 80’s) we allowed the Congress to dip into those funds, leaving IOU’s in the bank which was sure to become a problem in the future (NOW is the future!) Why were those funds not replaced?
To Seniors, the citizens who were earners in the 80’s, your checks today come from those IOU’s and your children (the workers of today) are making the payments. Where will their payments come from when they are Seniors. No where! Is that what you want to do to your Children?
Somewhere in the middle is a solution, one that is being talked about is for today’s Seniors with reasonable means to have their SS checks reduced by percentages. Seniors owe that to Posterity. The Preamble to our Constitution claims, WE, the People, are concerned as much for our Posterity as for ourselves. To members of Congress let them also read the Constitution, legislate in concert with it and make sure that congresses to follow will be tied to all financial issues in tune with these times and those in which they will govern. Today’s payments into the fund, must be sufficient and should not be tampered with. You can’t make changes when its too late. Today you must govern with the future in mind. Modern medicine has improved the quality and the length of life. That must be taken into consideration when the age to collect Social Security in the future is being considered.
Health Care is a personal responsibility, but Congress should keep an eye on price and quality. There is an international health organization. In some countries health care is affordable and Americans that can afford a trip, go elsewhere for less expensive health care. I do not know what controls there are for adequate, much less good, care but some people do go out of country for health care that is not so expensive. That is their right! The Government’s responsibility for individual health care should be for those who can not afford professional care and to be sure the care is appropriate and affordable for the general public. Citizens of a free Republic have responsibility for themselves and their families. The more government take-over, the more power government has and the fewer personal freedoms citizens have. Government is all about POWER! In a free society, individuals must assume personal responsibility to remain free. The more control Americans can keep in their own hands, the less costly will it be. Socialized anything is taxable. Someone has to pay. How much of your earnings do you want to be taken for taxes. Or would you rather keep some and pay for your own needs? Our country is broke. It is borrowing to pay the debts of some who should be paying for their own needs. And our President wants more of your money to solve the problems he and the Congress have not been able to solve.
When do we take back America, take back our own lives?
